Business Service Management
| Business Service Management (BSM) provides a framework that defines all the major processes that a technology organisation requires to deliver comprehensive ITIL based service management. This blueprint, developed by BMC, helps organisations structure their approach to improving technology support by identifying process requirements, process integration, data flows and underpinning automation technology. This significant increase the effectiveness of support processes and drives down cost through automation and consolidation of systems.
One of the core benefits that BSM brings is alignment of the technology organisation to the business. This is achieved through defining, in business terms, the technology services that need to be provided by the technology organisation, typically in a Service Catalogue. Using ITIL processes and best practice these are then used to define (or align) the technology organisation and infrastructure to deliver them. The result is a lean and agile technology organisation that delivers to the business and proportionally spends more time and money on technology innovation to help the business rather than just maintaining existing infrastructure. |
